Orientation To Housing Co-ops (Noon)
Monday, April 15 | 12:00 PM
In a housing cooperative "the members are the landlord." Members have their own apartments but work together to keep their property and community running well.
Financially, living in a co-op is like renting. The degree of control, responsibility, and security are more like owning.
The aspect of members working together is unique to the co-ops. It creates the strong sense of community and requires an ongoing commitment.
The first step in applying for a co-op is to attend a one-hour orientation at our main office, 88 King Street. Pre-registration is required so we know how many people to expect. Co-op applications are provided at the orientation.
