Attend one of our informational HopeBuilders breakfasts to learn more about the Champlain Housing Trust and the affordable housing work we do in northwestern Vermont.
Dealing with money matters can be stressful, scary and/or sad. Being financially capable means having the knowledge and skills to successfully manage credit, spending and savings. We offer regular workshops that are open to anyone in our community, for FREE!
Workshops are offered monthly, in both Burlington and St. Albans. Credit is used in so many ways in our society – bad credit or no credit can be a huge barrier to housing as well as other needs. This 2 hour workshop explains how credit scores are created, what information is in a credit report, how to check your credit and how the credit bureaus work. We also explain how to maintain good credit, build credit if you have none and rebuild credit if you need too. Please contact us at email@example.com for class dates.
We always say that it is far better for you to manage your money than for your money to manage you! We offer a series of 2 money management workshops. The first workshop covers all the basics of budgeting plus we address how our attitudes, habits and behaviors impact our spending and saving. The second is a practical application of all that you learned in the first class as applied to your specific situation. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
Special Programs and Services
Ready, Set, Rent! is an, by invitation only, special financial education program that CHT created to help people who want to rent an apartment from CHT but have no credit or struggle with poor credit. The first step in RSR is to apply for a CHT apartment or co-op. If credit is the only barrier you’ll be invited to join the RSR program.
