CVOEO Opens Foundations Family Shelter

Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) has opened Foundations Family Shelter in Burlington. The new space is a high-barrier communal-living shelter for families. CVOEO will lease the space from Champlain Housing Trust which has owned the building for 30 years, underlying the importance of permanent affordability and long term community assets.

Foundations Family Shelter consists of seven rooms available for families of different sizes. Dedicated CVOEO staff provide supportive housing resources, connecting families with essential services to help make the transition to permanent housing. Staff also work to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone at the shelter.

CVOEO is accepting new referrals to the shelter through the Coordinated Entry system. The shelter is open to anyone currently in, or looking for housing in, the agency-designated covered areas of Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties.
