Champlain Housing Trust’s Learn About Your Home video has been translated into 15 languages commonly spoken by CHT residents. The video provides residents with information about how to care for their home including: fire safety, recycling, composting and trash disposal, how to use appliances, and what to do if there are plumbing issues.
Translating the informational video removes a language barrier faced by many CHT residents and allows them to learn vital information about how to care for their home and what to do in case of a problem.
Translation for the videos was created by the Vermont Language Justice Project which seeks to provide language access to individuals and families to help them make informed decisions about their health. Since launching in 2020, the organization has produced more than 1,000 videos that have been viewed more than 124,000 times.
Translating the Learn About Your Home video was made possible with our partners whom we wish to thank: Burlington Housing Authority, Evernorth, Vermont Housing Finance Agency, Vermont Language Justice Project, and Winooski Housing Agency.
