The Vermont Legislature’s Senate Committee on Economic Development, Housing, and General Affairs and the Vermont House Committee on General & Housing are hosting a joint public hearing to solicit input from Vermonters on affordable housing and related issues. Your voice can make a difference!
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 16 beginning at 5:00pm, and the public can sign up to speak either via Zoom or in person. There are limited slots, and testimony is limited to 3 minutes.
CHT staff can help you prepare your testimony as needed.
Some ideas to help you frame your testimony:
- If you are a CHT renter, co-op member, or homeowner, let the committees know how much you’ve benefited from having safe, stable and affordable housing – and ask them to provide more opportunities for more Vermonters to obtain affordable housing.
- If you are currently looking for housing, let the committees know what barriers you face – such as the lack of affordable housing in your community.
- If you are a concerned citizen, let the committees know that you value inclusive communities and more affordable housing helps realize that vision.
Important! When you sign up, please do not sign up as speaking for Champlain Housing Trust. That’s reserved for the Board or staff of CHT.
