Vote! August 9th is Vermont’s Primary Election

Your vote is your voice! Tuesday, August 9th is Vermont’s primary election where voters choose candidates that will represent their parties on the ballot in November. Many elected roles are open so there are important choices on the ballot.

  • Register to vote: online via VT Secretary State’s office, at your town clerk’s office, or the place where you vote on election day – Vermont has same day voter registration
  • Check your voter information and find the location where you vote (polling place): https://mvp.vermont.gov/
  • To vote by mail for the August 9th primary election, you must request a ballot. You can do this online (sign in to My Voter Page); or with your town clerk.

By the way, for the November 8th general election, ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters on the state’s voter checklist.
