The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County Brings Addiction Recovery Services to Essex Junction at Susan’s Place Through Partnership with Champlain Housing Trust

Essex Junction, VT – April 20, 2026 — The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County (TPCCC) marks 4/20 in a meaningful way with a celebratory open house of its satellite location at Susan’s Place on Susie Wilson Road, in Essex Junction, VT. Thanks to Champlain Housing Trust’s (CHT) partnership, TPCCC’s mission is amplified by removing barriers to recovery support and bringing peer-led services closer to our Chittenden County neighbors.

Susan’s Place, with 68 apartments created and managed by the Champlain Housing Trust, was created to move people out of homelessness and into permanent housing with services on site. TPCCC will operate a full-service recovery center at the property on Mondays, offering a wide range of peer-driven, evidence-based programming and support. Services include recovery support groups, recovery coaching, and ongoing one-on-one peer support. These offerings reflect the same inclusive, sober, substance-free, and welcoming environment found at TPCCC’s center in Burlington. These services increase access for individuals who may face transportation or logistical challenges.

In addition to peer programming, the Satellite Location serves as a hub for connection to essential community resources. Community partners providing support and outreach at the site include STEPS, HopeWorks, HireAbility, Howard Center Community Outreach, and Champlain Housing Trust, creating a collaborative space where recovery and stability can intersect.

“This satellite location strengthens our mission by ensuring that individuals in recovery have more ways—and more places—to find connection, community, and hope,” said Cam Lauf, executive director of The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County. “We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Champlain Housing Trust and our community partners, whose belief in this makes it possible.”

Community engagement has already demonstrated the need for these services. On Mondays, Operations Manager Jeremy Potvin, who helped launch the development of this space, has observed consistent engagement through the availability of harm-reduction supplies.

“I bring 10 harm-reduction packs to the space each week, and they are consistently being used,” said Potvin. “I’m excited to be able to offer even more support to the Essex community.”

The grand opening celebration brings together Champlain Housing Trust, partner nonprofit organizations, TPCCC staff, legislators, and members of the public to recognize a shared commitment to recovery, harm reduction, and community well-being.

The TPCCC satellite location is open Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All are welcome—regardless of substance, pathway, or stage of recovery—to stop by, explore resources, and be met with dignity, compassion, and peer support.
