CHT’s Resident Engagement Manager Kristen Ciambella loves planning activities and events at our properties to foster and grow a sense of community that allow residents to get out of the house, meet new neighbors and see longtime friends. These gatherings also offer time for residents to talk in person with CHT staff and expand community building efforts already happening where they live.

Kristen’s planning includes partnering with various organizations to offer a variety of activities and events for residents. In addition to continued partnerships this summer with DREAM and Vermont Garden Network, CHT forged new connections with Talent Skatepark to sponsor summer camp for an aspiring skate boarder and Petra Cliffs sponsored summer mountain adventure training camp for a few young residents.

Shelburne Craft School lends ongoing support to stock art supplies in the craft corner for guests at Harbor Place and offers a free monthly arts and crafts class for Harbor Place guests to attend.

This summer Shelburne Museum provided transportation and food for Harbor Place guests to go to First Friday Eve events which is an evening at the museum each month with free live music, lawn games and special art exhibitions.

Plans are underway for a new CHT van next summer to facilitate additional off-site activities and opportunities for residents to explore more places in our community!

Here are ways you can find out about events and activities scheduled at your property:

    • Log in to the resident portal, Active Building, and any scheduled upcoming events will pop up on your screen. (If you don’t have an Active Building account, set one up today!)
    • Ask your property manager or SASH coordinator.
    • Look for activity and event flyers in the laundry room, community spaces, and on your front door.

If you have ideas or feedback for Kristen, you can email her or message her through your resident portal account in Active Building.
