Sustaining Homeownership through Affordability, Resilience & Efficiency

Sustaining Homeownership through Affordability, Resilience & Efficiency (SHARE) is CHT’s newest program to give homeowners the tools and information needed to improve financial skills and enhance housing stability.

The SHARE program is a free, 10-month program open to all homeowners in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties. It uses a combination of education (group workshops), individual coaching, as well as peer learning & support in a combination of in-person and virtual experiences.

SHARE offers these benefits

  • Free HomeOwner University and workshops such as home maintenance, protecting your home and finances.
  • Free professional coaching for 10 months that will help you create an action plan to improve your financial situation.
  • Peer learning and support
  • Opportunity to double savings in the Matched Saving Program. Meets monthly with your coach, takes 4 workshops, and saves between $15-$75 per month.
  • Access to information and community resources
  • 2 free credit reports (soft pulls)

Participants best suited for SHARE will have a computer, internet access and basic computer skills.  People without a computer or internet may find it difficult to fully engage in the education & coaching: requiring extra time and effort to participate. Participants should anticipate about 2 hours per month.
