The membership of Champlain Housing Trust elected two new members to the CHT Board of Directors at this year’s Annual Meeting on January 25th at the Hilton Hotel in Burlington.
Newly-elected to the Board of Directors for three year terms were Regina Mahony, City Manager of Essex Junction (Public Member), and Isaac Owusu, Director of Community Engagement and Support for the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance (Resident Member).
Regina has a background in community planning. She also volunteers with Burlington Dismas House and is Chair of the Community Advisory Board for the Burlington Community Justice Center.
Isaac is a CHT rental resident. Isaac’s main goal in life is to leave the world a better place for his now four-year-old son by mitigating the harms of systemic racism.
During the meeting, four current members were re-elected to another term on the Board: Naima Dennis of Burlington (General Member), Liz Gamache of St. Albans (Public Member), Sarah Robinson of Burlington (General Member), and Jeff Smith of Burlington (General Member).
The Champlain Housing Board of Directors is made up of one-third residents of CHT’s housing, one-third representing local government, and one-third the general population.
Champlain Housing Trust also recognized outgoing Board members Jessie Baker and Antoinette Bennett-Jones for their years of dedicated service.
